India Addresses China Border Tensions

New Delhi: India's firm stance on its territorial integrity was reiterated by External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. Speaking at a press briefing, Jaiswal addressed concerns regarding the military situation along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh, asserting that the entire Union Territory of Arunachal Pradesh has always been, and will always be, an integral part of India.

Clear Message on Territorial Integrity

Jaiswal's statement came in response to a direct question about the ongoing military developments and China's recent actions in the sensitive border region. He emphasized that India has been consistently clear on this matter, leaving no room for ambiguity. The spokesperson highlighted that Indian territories have been subjected to incursions and that China has been building infrastructure in areas that are historically and geographically part of India. He added that while India has always maintained that the boundary question must be resolved through peaceful dialogue and consultation, such transgressions are unacceptable.

Focus on Diplomatic Solutions

The Ministry of External Affairs has consistently called for the full adherence to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and the resolution of border issues through established diplomatic channels. Jaiswal underscored that India expects China to respect the sanctity of the LAC and desist from any actions that could unilaterally alter the status quo. The government's position is rooted in the understanding that stable and peaceful relations between India and China depend on mutual respect for each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity. While the specifics of the military preparedness remain a matter of national security, the diplomatic message is clear: India will not compromise on its sovereignty.
